Quantum-Safe, which helps organizations manage cryptography risks and transition to quantum-safe standards. The collaboration will integrate IBM’s quantum-safe technology with Telefónica Tech’s cybersecurity expertise to provide solutions for businesses and public institutions. These solutions will protect critical data by implementing new cryptographic standards defined by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.

As part of this agreement, IBM’s infrastructure has been deployed at Telefónica’s headquarters in Madrid to support business development and enhance cybersecurity measures. The partnership also includes the creation of a joint use case office to focus on encryption, secure algorithm adoption, and the protection of critical systems. Telefónica Tech will assist organizations in transitioning to quantum-safe encryption technologies to strengthen resilience against future cybersecurity risks. IBM executives emphasized the importance of early cryptographic evaluations, while Telefónica Tech highlighted the need to secure critical data against potential threats from quantum computing advancements.
