Jacobs to Lead Infrastructure Rebuild in U.S. Virgin Islands

Jacobs has been awarded a $137 million contract by the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority to manage the “Rebuild USVI” initiative, aimed at restoring and strengthening infrastructure across the U.S. Virgin Islands following the devastation caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Office to oversee critical projects involving hospitals, schools, transportation, power, and water systems across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. With a focus on long-term resilience, the initiative also considers the islands' heavy dependence on tourism and the urgent need to ensure reliable services and safe living conditions for nearly 90,000 residents.

Over three years, Jacobs will provide program management, as well as advisory and consulting services related to project planning, environmental oversight, supply chain coordination, and workforce development. The Office of Disaster Recovery, which manages the territory’s $23 billion in federal recovery funding, selected Jacobs based on its technical expertise, resources, and strategic approach. Jacobs brings experience from previous disaster recovery efforts in Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and San Francisco. The company’s role in the Rebuild USVI initiative highlights its ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure programs while ensuring compliance and community resilience.
