Jacobs to Advance LA’s Water Recycling Goals

LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) has selected Jacobs as the design-build contractor for the Donald C. Tillman Advanced Water Equalization Basins, a key project in Los Angeles' plan to significantly increase recycled water production by 2035. The equalization basins, capable of holding 9.5 million gallons of water, will regulate variable flows to the Donald C. Tillman Advanced Water Purification Facility (AWPF).

This stability is essential for the facility’s advanced treatment processes, which will produce purified water for reuse through groundwater replenishment under the Los Angeles Groundwater Replenishment Project. Jacobs, in partnership with Kiewit, will oversee design, permitting, construction, and commissioning of the basins, furthering efforts to provide a sustainable and resilient water supply for the region.
