Infosys Research Reveals AI’s Growing Business Impact Across Industries

Industries such as professional services, life sciences, high tech, telecommunications, and insurance report stronger AI performance, while sectors like manufacturing, retail, and the public sector face challenges in achieving consistent outcomes.

The research points to IT, operations, facilities, cybersecurity, and software development as the top AI use cases, delivering success rates 10-15% higher than others. Infosys emphasizes that organizations focusing on transformational AI applications are more likely to meet business goals, especially when supported by robust change management and employee training. Currently, only 16% of companies have implemented effective change strategies. The report recommends actions such as accelerating agentic AI adoption, fostering AI innovation models, and improving workforce readiness. Infosys executives noted that enterprise AI is poised to drive significant business transformation by reshaping processes, operating models, and technical infrastructures.
