Infosys and Lufthansa Partner to Drive Digital Innovation in Aviation

Infosys has announced a strategic collaboration with aviation group Lufthansa Group and airline IT provider, Lufthansa Systems GmbH to enhance digital innovation in the aviation industry. As part of this partnership, Infosys and Lufthansa Systems will establish a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, India. The GCC will focus on advancing Lufthansa Group’s software and product development while also supporting Lufthansa Systems’ offerings

By leveraging Infosys Topaz, an AI-driven solution, the center will develop technology-driven aviation IT products to improve operational efficiency, safety, and customer experience. The initiative aims to optimize airline operations by implementing modern technologies, data-driven solutions, and AI-based innovations across critical functions such as finance, flight navigation, and crew operations.

Lufthansa Group’s CIO, Thomas Rückert, emphasized that the partnership will help address the aviation industry's challenges, including volatile fuel prices and operational complexities. Lufthansa Systems CEO, Thomas Wittmann, highlighted the collaboration’s role in accelerating digital innovation for airline customers. Ashiss Kumar Dash, Infosys EVP, stated that Infosys’ AI and cloud solutions will enhance operational efficiency and passenger experiences. Infosys has a history of working with leading aviation companies and aims to support sustainability initiatives through its technological expertise. Lufthansa Group continues to expand its role in the European aviation market, while Infosys remains committed to providing digital transformation solutions worldwide.
