processing, AI assistants for system management, and support for over 250 AI use cases in sectors such as finance, retail, and healthcare. IBM also introduced the Spyre Accelerator, expected later in 2025, which will add generative AI functionality via a PCIe card. Clients can access AI tools like IBM watsonx Code Assistant and watsonx Assistant for Z to streamline development and operations.

The IBM z17 also enhances data security and IT efficiency through features such as IBM Vault for secrets management, AI-based data classification, and threat detection using natural language processing. Ross Mauri, General Manager of IBM Z and LinuxONE, IBM, stated, "With z17, we're bringing AI to the core of the enterprise with the software, processing power, and storage to make AI operational quickly. Additionally, organizations can put their vast, untapped stores of enterprise data to work with AI in a secured, cost-effective way." IBM’s support services will further help clients optimize the z17 for secure, high-performance AI workloads across hybrid cloud environments.
