According to a survey by the Deloitte U.S. Center for Health Solutions, over 70 percent of healthcare executives from countries like Australia, the UK, and the U.S. emphasized improving operational efficiencies and productivity as top priorities.

With administrative tasks draining valuable time from clinicians, there is a growing focus on adopting digital tools like electronic medical records and artificial intelligence. These technologies are seen as vital to automating administrative processes and reducing clinician burnout. About 90 percent of surveyed executives expect the adoption of digital technologies to accelerate in 2025.

Despite financial constraints, health systems are optimistic about improving patient engagement and care quality. A significant focus is on enhancing consumer experiences, as patients are increasingly looking for convenience and personalized care. Virtual health, hospital-at-home, and other alternative care models are expected to grow in popularity, helping to meet these new expectations. However, challenges remain, including the need for improved cybersecurity and staff retention strategies. Despite constrained budgets, clinical staff shortages, and the pressure to adopt new technologies, many health system leaders are optimistic about their ability to reduce costs and enhance the patient experience in 2025.
